My experience with this shop is at the first stage of curtain buying, the measuring. Just before Christmas, I paid 50 pounds for Simon Boyd to send someone to my home to measure up. Not once did they tell me that the payment was actually just for the person to measure and not to give me the actual measurements which meant that when I asked for the measurements 2 weeks later they would not release them. I am livid that in this day and age they did not explain this to me. I was even more shocked that they didnt even have the measurements in the shop. Poor service, poor attendance of shop staff. I understand that the type of business they run means that each customer spends a long time with the staff member but I still think they should apologise for the length of time you have to wait. Its appalling. I would not go back again....

When I am spending £45.00 per metre on fabric (and need 46 metres) I expect to know what the name of the fabric is and who makes it. Simon Boyd will not give you this information - claiming not to know. I understand they are reluctant for people then to find it cheaper elsewhere - but that\'s the nature of competition, and their prices have always been pretty competitive anyway. Will not buy expensive fabric here again - but will buy the occasional offcut....
